Whether you have long term problems or a new difficult situation to deal with, being listened to by someone outside the situation can really help.
I have been a practising counsellor and relationship therapist for 18 years and working in Brighton and Hove for the past 9 years. I am committed to providing counselling and psychosexual therapy ( Sex Therapy) in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
I work with both individuals and couples on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. I am an integrative counsellor, this means that I do not work from one single theoretical base. I will work with you using knowledge gathered over many years of training I aim to make sure that you get the best experience possible from your counselling.
Sometimes when relationships hit a difficult patch it's hard for couples to know where to turn for impartial help. In my work as a relationship counsellor I take a lot of care to avoid taking sides or making judgements about either partner. It is important for both members of the couple to feel equally listened to and respected. My aim is for you both to build listening skills, improve your communication style and learn how to make compromises that work endure and revitalise your relationship. I offer a real chance for you to work with your partner to make changes. I can help you to understand the problems and to identify unhelpful patterns of behaviour. I will support and encourage you in the process of change. My work as a Psychosexual or sex therapist often includes elements of relationship counselling. Helping you to find a good balance of intimacy and practical solutions to your problems.
Sometimes people just want to come to explore why they behave the way they do. You might want to gain a greater understanding about the way you build relationships or why you find it difficult to make friends. Perhaps you feel anxious or embarrassed about joining in with social events or perhaps you are shy about talking to people. Maybe you have troubling issues in your past that you want to explore and work through. I will be there for you while you explore your inner processes and feelings. I offer support, insight and encouragement. I will listen and not judge.
